what it means to me
Research is curiosity meeting craft, aligning to hold space for the multitude of experiences that enrich our world. In our interconnected existence, it is powerful for shaping the path towards understanding and support. Necessary for the promise of responsiveness in our goal towards social mindfulness and consciousness. Evaluation is a way to gauge whether this promise was kept; and with embarking upon it, one expresses a commitment to stay true to a pledge made. These endeavours have not only helped me contribute to the hope of a better tomorrow for others, but they have also helped me reconcile pieces of the past for myself…
what i bring to the table
I have a wealth of experience conducting qualitative, quantitative, mixed-method research for a variety of institutions (non-profit, charities, research firms, businesses, ministries, universities). Here on the Projects page, you will find research, policy, and/or evaluation projects that honour experiences and themes related to adversity, grief, and isolation, such as displacement and homelessness, food insecurity, grief and mental health, and discrimination. These pages also hold evidence of our inherent connectivity with other humans, non-human animals and nature. Because someone cared enough to ask and to respond.
Some of the questions I help organizations and groups answer are:
“Is our response working?” Aka: Are our programs, policies and/or practices having the results we desire them to have? What is their effect/impact? Using Participatory Approach & Mixed Method Research Skills
“Could we do better?” Aka: What are the diverse perspectives on it? Are they exclusive to some folks, while advantaging others? Using Intersectional Inclusivity & Equity Lens
“How can we further grow from this?” Aka: How can we learn from our growing pains? How can we continue improving? Using Best-Practices Approach & Strategic Action Plan Focused
For well over a decade, I have been conducting in-depth interviews, focus groups and designing surveys for a multitude of organizations to answer such key questions and more. I have also been supervising research teams and projects that focus on program evaluation, policy research, and DEI-related consulting. As an educator with over a decade of teaching experience (within academia and businesses focused on future and current leaders), I also am a life-longer learner and know the true value of deep listening when engaging with partners and collaborators.

On this Projects page that is ever-evolving you will see a variety of different social and organizational issues related to equity and inclusion. You will see grey literature, but also peer-reviews articles that I have authored or co-authored.
We still have a lot to accomplish together…
